City set to sign Emad Meteb
The agent of Emad Meteb has announced that the Al-Ahly star is to undergo a medical at Bristol City, as soon as gets hold of a visa.
City have been tracking the Egyptian international throughout the summer, as manager Gary Johnson aims to improve a lacklustre strike-force which only conjured up 23 league goals last season.
Meteb, who has scored 22 goals in 47 matches for his nation, is seen as the ideal candidate for the Robins’ boss and he will become City’s most expensive signing ever - at £1.5 million.
The strikers agent told filgoal:”Al-Ahly have finally agreed on the instalments method. Bristol City will pay half the amount now and the rest in January 2009.
“Emad shall fly to London as soon as he acquires a visa.”

Meteb has a good international record, but I’m not sure how he will cut it in the Championship. I don’t think Mido could cope, so will be interesting to see how his countryman gets on. Hope he doesn’t have a similar temperament.
